Sacramento County is hosting workshops in June to assist you with information regarding the layoff process and help start you on the road to a new job. If you have received a layoff notice, you may attend a morning or afternoon workshop on County time. Please coordinate with your supervisor for scheduling purposes.

The following organizations will have presentations regarding unemployment insurance, job training and job placement:

• Sacramento Employment & Training Agency (SETA)
• California Employment Development Department (EDD)

Additionally, you’ll hear from the County’s Employment, Retirement, Benefits, and Leadership & Organizational Development Offices. Following the presentations, stay for “Table Talk,” more personalized sessions regarding:

• Your retirement options
• Your benefit needs: extended health insurance (COBRA,) Deferred Compensation, Flexible Spending Accounts and all other group benefits
• Your options for transfer or re-employment with the County as jobs become available
• Your opportunities to tap into the Employee Assistance Program services
• Your ability to land that next job, with interviewing and resume writing tips. Bring your resume with you for one-on-one help!
