As part of its commitment to provide local residents more control over their future, Sacramento County has formed four Community Planning Councils as a two-year pilot project. The Councils began work in October 2005. Patterned after the County's Planning Commission, the Councils are geared to provide local control over many land-use issues that affect the community's quality of life. They replaced their area's Community Planning Advisory Council.
