As Sacramento County is one of five counties to implement the Voter’s Choice Act in California, voters across the region have seen significant changes to the way in which they can vote. So with voted ballots now being returned in a variety of ways, when will results be reported?
The Department of Voter Registration and Elections (DVRE) would like to assure Sacramento County residents that initial election results will still be released after 8 p.m. on election night, June 5 and periodically updated until all precincts have reported. The election results will be available on DVRE’s website by clicking on the results banner located on the home page. The results page is interactive allowing viewers to filter results in a variety of ways including by precinct or contest.
If you missed registration and conditional voter registration deadlines for this election, you can register now, as some of the successful Primary Election candidate winners will be determined in the General Election in November. To register to vote, visit the Secretary of State’s website, or get a registration form at most libraries, post offices or the Elections Office at 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento.
