The California Capital Airshow (CCA), presented by Sacramento County, flies in to our region this weekend. The show features an amazing performer lineup and even more entertainment for the whole family. The Airshow, October 5-6, at Mather Airport, will feature the Royal Canadian Air Force Jet Demonstration Team, known as the Snowbirds, as the headliner. Sacramento is one of the few shows in the nation to host a military demonstration team this year. The Airshow also includes world-class aerobatic champions, wing suit flyers, barnstorming, wing walking, and brand new displays and entertainment along the ramp.
While entertainment in the sky is endless, it continues on the ramp. Serving the latest foodie craze, CCA is introducing gourmet food trucks this year. Be sure to check out the brand new Space and Aviation LaunchPad presented by Aerojet Rocketdyne, designed to spark young adults’ interest in science, technology, engineering and math. The Kids Zone also returns this year with even more interactive and educational exhibits this year.
Tickets to the Airshow are available online. The web site is regularly updated with news, tips, attraction information and more. One important Airshow tip is to wear sunscreen, a hat and comfortable shoes.
Established in 2004 by the Sacramento County Department of Airports, the California Capital Airshow has become one of the largest and highly-respected shows in the nation. As part of its community relations, the non-profit organization has awarded over 80 scholarships to deserving students from our region with an interest in aviation, aerospace, aeronautics and related fields.
