Join your friends and neighbors by committing to three easy initiatives to reduce your indoor and outdoor water use by 20 percent. As an extra incentive, the first 1,000 people to make the pledge get a free Quick Quack car wash and are entered to win a $500 gift card to Green Acres!
As our region experienced its third consecutive dry winter in late in 2013, the Sacramento County Water Agency asked its customers to make a voluntary 20 percent reduction in water use. The new Get Water Wise Initiative helps you achieve your conservation goals by organizing, categorizing and incentivizing water reduction options, tips and techniques.
Landscape irrigation typically accounts for about 70 percent of total residential water use. Substantial water reductions can be achieved by simply choosing the right plants and planting in the right place. Similar reductions can be made indoors by turning off the tap when you brush your teeth or rinse your dishes, and only using appliances, like the clothes washer and dishwasher, when they are fully loaded saves water, time and money.
Go to www.GetWaterWise.org or text Water to 45797 to take the pledge. You are part of our regional water conservation solution. Every drop counts and we are counting on every drop!
