Sacramento, CA., -- The Board of Supervisors authorized the County Executive to appoint Ben Lamera as the Director of Finance effective June 26, 2016. Lamera has been acting as Interim Director since the previous Director retired in January.
“We are fortunate to have someone so experienced and qualified within our own ranks,” said Board Chair Roberta MacGlashan, Supervisor for District 4. “This position is extremely important to County operations and the Board has full confidence in Mr. Lamera.”
“During his time as Interim Finance Director, Mr. Lamera has proven he is the right person for the job,” said County Executive Nav Gill. “His experience and training have equipped him to lead the Finance Department
into the future, and I congratulate him on this well-deserved appointment.”
Mr. Lamera holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accountancy from California State University, Sacramento, and he has more than 25 years of County service in the Department of Finance, including nearly six years as Assistant Auditor-Controller. Previously, he served in or managed several programs within the Department of Finance, including Audits, Tax Accounting Bureau, Payment Services, and Accounting Reporting and Control.
Mr. Lamera lives in Elk Grove with his wife and three children.
