Spencer Stone, Alek Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler became heroes the instant they decided to risk their own lives to save others on a Paris-bound train on August 21. Friends since their childhood attending middle school in Fair Oaks, the three brave men prevented a potential terrorist attack and saved many lives. A parade in their honor is planned for Friday, September 11 from noon to 1 p.m.
The public is invited to attend the parade and ceremony, which will feature local bands, first responders, military representatives and other organizations.
“I am proud to join with our community to celebrate our hometown heroes who showed amazing bravery and selflessness and remember the thousands of heroes and victims of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001,” said Sacramento County Supervisor Susan Peters (District 3).
The event will kick off at 12 pm with a parade down Capitol Mall; immediately followed by a special ceremony on the West Steps of the Capitol.
