There will be a temporary closure of the Alabama Road Bridge near the town of Herald over Laguna Creek between Borden Road and Simmerhorn Road to all vehicles, pedestrians and bicycles from October 23-27 to make repairs. Alabama Road residents will have access to the north and south side of the bridge at all times, but not across the bridge.
Alabama Road Bridge closure will begin on Monday, October 23, at 8:30 a.m., to repair the north side bridge abutment and rebuild the southbound bridge approach.
The planned reopening to through traffic is Friday, October 27. However, repair work may be completed at an earlier date and the traveling public should watch for roadside message signs announcing updated project information.
Borden Road to the north and Simmerhorn Road to the south will be used as detour routes for this project. Detour signs will be posted along the routes.

The Sacramento County Department of Transportation understand the challenges and inconveniences that commuters, residents and businesses will experience during the bridge closure and appreciate your patience.
