In celebration of National Voter Registration Day – Sep. 22 – a collaboration of Election Officials from El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba counties announced the newly formed ‘Northern California Coalition of Election Officials’ (NCCEC). The NCCEC was formed to not only remind voters about the upcoming election but to urge the importance of voter participation and educate voters on the various options to vote. The NCCEC is a nonpartisan, multi-county effort to help communicate voter rights and choices in California.
Yesterday, the NCCEC joined the Sacramento Kings at Golden 1 Center to announce the coalition and push voter registration efforts. Golden 1 Center was announced July 22 as an 11-day Vote Center for Sacramento County voters – the largest Vote Center in Sacramento County history. Golden 1 Center will be one of 84 locations in Sacramento County that voters can use for critical, in-person voting services between Oct. 24 and Nov. 3.
The NCCEC coalition outreach efforts included a region-wide advertising campaign through radio, social media and digital display ads.
Options for Every Voter
The Presidential General Election will take place on Tuesday, November 3 and while every county looks a little bit different in its voting model and offerings, every active, registered voter in California will receive a vote-by-mail ballot in the first weeks of October. Voters then have a choice in how they want to vote and return their ballot: through the mail (with paid return postage) – a safe and secure option, personally placing it in a Ballot Drop Box or by voting in-person at a Vote Center/polling place.
Elections Vary by County
Every County runs elections differently. Visit your local county election website for specific details on drop box dates and locations, in-person voting dates and locations and other critical voting information.
