Jill LaVine, the Sacramento County’s Registrar of Voters, will serve as the moderator for three webinars hosted by the United States Election Assistance Commission. (EAC).  The webinars are designed to reach a national audience of election officials and foster the exchange of best practice information on a range of election management topics. The webinars will be instrumental in updating EAC's Quick Start Guides and other educational materials.

Drawing on 25 years of service in Sacramento county elections, Jill will be working with a group that includes six polling place training coordinators from across the nation. The webinars will cover choosing reliable poll workers, recruiting poll workers in underserved areas and creating comradeship and incentive for workers, among other topics.

The webinars are scheduled for August 27 (Poll Worker Recruitment), August 29 (Poll Worker Training), and September 5 (Poll Worker Retention).

About the EAC:

The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) was established by the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA). EAC is an independent, bipartisan commission charged with developing guidance to meet HAVA requirements, adopting voluntary voting system guidelines, and serving as a national clearinghouse of information on election administration. EAC also accredits testing laboratories and certifies voting systems, as well as audits the use of HAVA funds.
