​​The U.S. Presidential Election is Tuesday, November 8. Here’s what Sacramento County voters need to know before and on Election Day:

Polling Places

On Election Day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Don’t know where your polling place is? Visit Sacramento County’s Polling Place Lookup or call 916-875-6500.

Vote By Mail Voters

Ballots are available as of October 11, 2016, either by mail or by coming to the Voter Registration and Elections Office.

You can request a ballot by:

  • Email: voterinfo@saccounty.net
  • Online: www.elections.saccounty.net/VotebyMail/Pages/default.aspx
  • Mail: 7000 65th Street, Sacramento 95823
  • Fax: 916-854-9796
  • Phone: 916-875-6155

Extra postage is required. This election ballots are three, 17-inch cards. These weigh in a just over two ounces, which means the ballots require 68 cents postage. For voters who don’t have the ‘second ounce’ stamps, two first-class stamps will get the ballot to the Elections Office.

Sacramento County’s Vote by Mail ballots can be dropped off at any Vote by Mail Drop Off Sites, polling place in Sacramento County on Election Day, or at the County’s Voter Registration and Elections office (7000 65th Street, Suite A) by 8 p.m. on Election Day or postmarked by any federal or commercial mail carrier and received by Monday, November 14.

Voter Service Centers

There are four Voter Service Centers in Sacramento County. They are open Saturday, October 29 and November 5, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, October 30 and November 6, noon-5 p.m.

Services available include: 

  • Pick up a Vote by Mail ballot
  • Drop off your completed Vote by Mail ballot
  • Mark your Vote by Mail ballot with the Accessible Voting Machine

Registering to Vote

The last day to register to vote in the Presidential Election is October 24. To register or update your registration information online, visit the Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections website. 

Election Night Results

You can view Election Night results on the Sacramento County interactive election results webpage. Results will be posted after 8 p.m., Election Night with updates at least every two hours until all polling places have reported in.
